Beggar - Lermontov

At the gates of the holy monastery
Stood prosyashtiy podayanyya
poor withered, just live
from hunger, thirst and suffering.

Only piece of bread he had requested,
And eyes are alive flour,
And someone put a stone
In his outstretched hand.

So I prayed for your love
With bitter tears, with anguish;
So my best feelings
Deceived thee forever!
